Fees and Rebates

At MotionMenders our patients may be eligible for a rebate through their private health fund, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) or Medicare. Please contact our office for additional information.

MotionMenders is a Gold Coast NDIS provider, proudly supporting NDIS participants with Physiotherapy, Allied Health Assistants, and Support Worker services. We work with both Plan-Managed and Self-Managed NDIS participants and have a strong, practical understanding of the NDIS framework. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality, personalised care tailored to each individual’s needs.

We provide services for:

• Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) for children aged 0–9
• NDIS supports for participants aged 9 and above

Whether you are an existing NDIS participant or just beginning your NDIS journey, our Gold Coast team can guide you through accessing supports, answer your questions, and make the process as simple and stress-free as possible.

At MotionMenders our goal is to ensure every NDIS participant on the Gold Coast can focus on what matters most, improving physical health, building independence, and enhancing overall wellbeing.

MotionMenders welcomes private health insurance clients at our Gold Coast Physiotherapy clinic, by appointment only. Following your consultation, we provide an itemised receipt so you can claim your rebate directly through your health fund.

What private health clients should know:

• Rebate amounts vary depending on your health fund and level of cover. We recommend contacting your insurer prior to your appointment to confirm your entitlements
• Gap payments may apply, which is the difference between our consultation fee and the amount reimbursed by your health fund.
• No GP referral is required to book as a private health client

MotionMenders provides Gold Coast Physiotherapy services under Medicare’s Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plans Item 10960.

Medicare rebates are available for eligible patients living with a chronic condition, making physiotherapy more accessible and affordable with a valid GP referral.

Key information:

• Eligible patients can access up to 5 Medicare-subsidised Physiotherapy sessions per calendar year
• A valid GP referral is required prior to your first appointment
• When booking with your GP, be sure to mention that your appointment is to discuss a CDM

Fees and rebates:

• Gap payments apply to all appointments (the difference between our fee and the Medicare rebate)
• Payment is collected at the time of your appointment
• We process your Medicare claim on your behalf, and your rebate is paid directly into your nominated bank account

MotionMenders provides Gold Coast Physiotherapy for children and young people under Medicare Item 82035. Supporting those with complex neurodevelopmental disorders and eligible disabilities.

Medicare rebates under this item are available for eligible patients under 25 years of age who require allied health services to assist with diagnosis or to contribute to a treatment and management plan.

Eligibility criteria:

• Aged under 25 years
• Requires allied health services under the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS)
• Has a diagnosed or suspected eligible condition

Eligible conditions may include:

• Significant vision impairment (≤6/18 in the better eye with correction)
• Hearing loss (assessment criteria apply)
• Deafblindness
• Cerebral palsy
• Down syndrome
• Fragile X syndrome
• Prader-Willi syndrome
• Williams syndrome
• Angelman syndrome
• Kabuki syndrome
• Smith-Magenis syndrome
• CHARGE syndrome
• Cri du Chat syndrome
• Cornelia de Lange syndrome
• Microcephaly (assessment criteria apply)
• Rett syndrome
• Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)
• Lesch-Nyhan syndrome
• 22q Deletion syndrome

Referrals and requirements:

• A valid referral is required prior to your first appointment
• This includes a treatment and management plan prepared by a GP, specialist, or consultant physician

• Payment is made at the time of your session
• We can assist with processing your Medicare claim for a smooth experience

At MotionMenders, we are proud to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients through dedicated Physiotherapy services under Medicare Item 81335.

This program provides access to allied health services for patients who have been assessed by a GP and identified as requiring ongoing support for a chronic condition with complex care needs, managed under a GP Management Plan (GPMP).

We are committed to delivering care that is culturally respectful, accessible, and tailored to each individual’s needs.

Key information:

• Eligible patients can access up to 10 Medicare-subsidised Physiotherapy sessions per calendar year
• Services are available for patients of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent with appropriate medical referral

Referrals and requirements:

• A valid referral is required prior to your first appointment
• This must be provided by your GP as part of an approved care plan (GPMP)

• Payment is made at the time of your session
